A new favorite!

There is nothing about this beautiful, complex, layered love story that screams first time author release! Claudette and Dominic's journey had me captivated from beginning to end! This was no hearts and flowers story, but it was one of accountability, redemption, and ownership of one's shortcomings. And in the end the act of just plain choosing to be better for the people you love! I now have a new edition to my one click author list! Rae Lyse you have a new supporter over here!

It's Nic & Clo' for me 😍

Saving Sunflower by Rae Lyse captured my attention from the very first page. This book was beautifully written, and I can’t wait to read more from this new author. I loved the way Nic and Clo’ relationship blossomed throughout the story. Also, this story was Everything to me personally for so many reasons. It feels like I know these characters. Especially, Dominic he reminds me of someone in my life in so many ways from the troubling life to the way he loves. Rae, I hope you will be dropping another book soon.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND READ THIS BOOK

I am completely blown away that this is the author’s first release. WHAT A DEBUT. I enjoyed this book from start to finish....I felt like I was watching a movie. It captivated my interest from cover to cover. I personally love a well-written slow burn. This book was just that. Character development and plot articulation were both superb. This book was very realistic. The setting, the vernacular, the dialogue, the story line, THE BOOK...it was all so captivating. I followed the author on every social media outlet because she has earned a new fan. She has a talented pen. I’m currently on a book high right now.

Bravo Bravo, just Awesome

Girl you did that. I love Dominic and Claudette story. I felt every emotion they felt. They had soul ties. Every woman have had a Dominic before. He changed for her and I am glad. You couldn't do nothing but love Claudette. I believe he first fell in love with her innocence, then her hair and naivety. I thought Autumn was acting so ugly at first, when she should have been there for her friend. I am glad she came around. You did that. I am waiting for your next story. Thank you for this story of LOVE and innocence😍😍

This story was EVERYTHING!

All I can say is WOW! This story was beautifully written and kept me engaged the entire time! First off, I love that it was a full length novel because it allowed the characters backstory to build them up! I gained a full understanding of each person and why they are the way they are. Second, the main characters were brilliant. They both had shortcomings but plenty of redeemable qualities that made you want to see them succeed. The love written between Nic and Clo was swoon worthy. Nic is definitely book bae material in every sense of the word, even when Nic messed up you still wanted him for Clo and that says a lot about his character. My heart ached for Nic and Clo was a beautiful soul that you just prayed he eventually did right by. The side characters development was great and I can't wait to read about the greatness in store for Jo! My only complaint is that I'm now obsessed with this couple and need a check in or I might die. 😆 (spoiler ahead) I was a little sad that they didn't get much time together towards the end because of his jail sentence and we only saw him be a dad for a few short pages. I'm hoping we get frequent updates in Jo's story but I feel like we need some closure on grown-up Dominic. Keeping my fingers crossed for a novelette in the future! It's been a long time since I've found a book this well written and I can't wait to see what else this author has to offer. If I could give more stars I would! Well done! 👏🏽👏🏽

Very Sweet Slow Burn

I’m not usually one for slow burns, but I wanted to read something that was as emotionally satisfying as Millie Belizaire’s Collide Series and her novel ‘fast’; ‘Saving Sunflower’ certainly didn’t disappoint. It’s both heart wrenching and hopeful. I absolutely loved Claudette and Dominic’s story. It was so loving and tender; they both deserved a lifetime of happiness, and I hope the author revisits them sometime in the future. I yearn to know what awaits them in the future and curious about the novel’s secondary characters like Autumn and Josiah. I think Rae Lyse has a lot of talent, and I am excited to see what she shares next. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for an angsty, emotional read.

Saving Sunflower

Sooo it took me awhile to start reading this and now that I am done I don't know why. This had me all over with my emotions but in the most satisfying way. It's like Claudette was crazy familiar like she was myself or my best friend. She wasn't anyone but herself because she never had to be anything else. She never has to play a role that wasn't naturally who she was. I think that is the one of the reasons Dominic fell for her and honestly she for him. Yes they both brought out different sides but all in all their was no trying to change who they were. The childhood they had molded them into what would be the best parts of them. I loved how that was displayed in this story. It was intense but interesting because they had never experienced anything like what they have. The other relationships that built and developed was really good seeing because it can be exactly like that. The person you love can never be stopped by anyone else's opinions!!!

Beautiful

Rae, my good sis this was amazinggg. I can’t even put it in too many words, but I am obsessed lol. I like that you made the story realistic, it was easy to connect with the characters. In the middle of reading, I had to just our right buy the book because I wanted to be able to reread forever lol. You have a new reader, I will definitely be on the lookout for other books you release. Oh and Dominic is bae and Claudette is my girl, I love their connection it feels like a genuine lasting love lol. This book was very much worth it!

First release

Many readers spoke of this book especially the fact that this book was the author's first release. It took me a while to get to it but I am glad I finally did. The story of Claudette and Dominic was beautifully written. It wasn't a story that you would expect but their individual struggles bring you immediately into their world. Their discovery of love, love for each other made this story worthwhile. Whew! There were a few issues I thought that should have been wrapped up like Marco, Tia, and even punk Eric but the author probably thought the story was long enough. On to the next book in the series.
